AM Strand brooch & Ditzel earrings
designed for Anton Michelsen
Here is an iconic 1950s sterling silver jewellery set. The brooch is by Karen Strand and is depicted in Jacob Thage's 1990 book 'Danish Jewellery' . It is called the Persian Palm brooch, the shape hijacked by the Paisley shawl industry and also so popular in modernist jewellery. The earrings (clips) look like 'commas' and are by Nanna and Jørgen Ditzel. These are depicted in Warman's Jewellery by Christie Romero. The two together (both made for Anton Michelsen - see designer profile) form a wonderful modernist set - simple. bold and beautiful.
