designed for other Danish Designers

Art nouveau brooch by E.L.Weimann, whose workshop was registered from 1897 to 1937. This lovely antique brooch boasts a large round chrysophase which is framed by broad silver swirls so typical for this period, which in Denmark is called Skønvirke, It was the jewellery produced in this style at the beginning of the 20th century, most notably by Georg Jensen and Bernhard Hertz, which put Denmark on the international map. This example contains all the ingredients, made in an affordable metal with a non-precious stone. It is, as most brooches of the time, finished with a smooth back, i.e. it is hollow inside and thus lightweight.

condition

Excellent, no visible damage. Pin is straight and secure, but has a rusty feel. Old c-clasp.
