Iron Age Chieftain Snake Ring
designed for other Danish Designers
Here is a fabulous Sterling silver replica ring (pre-owned). The design is known as Ormring (snake ring). It is a substantial size and weight (15gms) and the original is thus presumed to have belonged to a chieftain or other very important person. It was found in the grave of a man at Himlingøje in Zealand, Denmark. From the Early Iron Age, about 200-300 A.D. The original is in the National Museum, Copenhagen, Denmark.
This ring has been reproduced by a number of companies, and current on-line (new) prices range from £90 to £150.
