Here is an interesting brooch by the Inverness silversmith John Fraser. It is a traditional Scottish round brooch with a central stone for wearing on a tartan sash. But the silver surround harks back to an older tradition, with an interwoven Celtic knot design. The stone (usually from the Cairngorm mountains) is also interesting, as it is a beautifully cut smoky quartz stone, rather than the more frequently used citrine.
