designed for Kalevala Koru

Here is a wonderful, and highly unusual brooch modelled on a fish, probably a plaice.  It was made by the Finnish company Kalevara Koru, which was established in 1935, according to Wikipedia, on the centenary of the publication of the Kalevara, the Finland epic poem which was based on oral tradition. Originally most of their jewellery harked back to the age of mythology, but now the company produces jewellery in all genres, and in gold as well as silver and bronze.
