designed for Herman Siersbøl

The "Paisley" or "Persian palm" design became extremely popular in the 1950s and is seen in may different guises as brooches, earrings, bracelets and necklaces as here. Many silversmiths produced jewellery in this design, one of the most famous is probably Karen Strand, who made a very large brooch for Anton Michelsen (see elsewhere on this site).

This version, with interlinking links, is the work of the prolific Danish silversmith Herman Siersbøl (see profile). It is a quite weighty piece and extremely well made.
